More than half a million people participated in the commemoration of the Croatian national team in Zagreb

The Croatian national team for the first time in history reached the final of the World Cup. In the last match, which took place on July 15 at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, the Croatian team lost to France 2: 4.

The team left Moscow Monday with an hour late , so the commemoration program of the team has changed. At the Zagreb airport, footballers were greeted by tens of thousands of people. On the way to Bana Josip Jelacic Square, where the main events took place, the team drove on a two-story bus. Several hundred thousand people took part in the parade.

Few hours before the arrival of the national team, more than 100,000 people gathered in the square. According to the media, during the celebration, the number of people in the square was much higher than that of the police. It is worth mentioning that because of the long wait of the team on the spot and the intense heat of more than 500 people needed medical badistance. In total, the Croatian national team in Zagreb met, according to media reports, more than half a million people for a population of just over 4 million inhabitants.
