The first block of nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan will be launched before 2028

"If we continue to use natural gas and coal, their reserves could be exhausted, it will be an unforgivable mistake and a crime for the future generation," Mirziyoyev said.

Work on the creation of nuclear energy has already begun in Uzbekistan. An agreement was reached with Rosatom State Corporation on the construction of a nuclear power plant. The complex will consist of two power units with a capacity of 1200 megawatts each. The commissioning of the first plant is planned until 2028.

The launch of the nuclear power plant will save 3.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The volume of carbon monoxide released into the atmosphere due to natural combustion will be reduced by 3 million tons per year.
