Uzbekistan will no longer pay to check the electricity meters

The relevant amendments were made to the regulation on the procedure of control of electricity meters for the consumption of electricity, reports the regulatory portal Norma.uz

Recall that in January 2018 new rules for the use of electrical energy have been adopted in the country. They said that because of territorial power grid companies, only modern measuring devices are controlled. This is integrated into automated monitoring and accounting systems for electrical energy (AMRMS). It follows that the verification of measuring devices that do not meet the modern requirements is paid by the consumer (the owner) alone.

The adopted document changed the situation. It is now explicitly stated that the periodic and unforeseen verification of any measuring device is done to the detriment of companies in the territorial power grids. And all standards that referred to payment by the consumer were excluded from the Regulations.

It is necessary to pay only when the meter is damaged by the fault of the consumer.

In addition, in accordance with previous decisions, it is stipulated that the verification of measuring devices installed as part of the implementation of the AMR system is 10 years. The calibration period for the remaining devices is 4 years as before.

For verification, the appliances are removed by a licensed electrician with the participation of a representative of the Bureau of Enforcement. At the same time, the integrity of the meter and seals is verified, which is documented in 4 copies (one for the consumer, the territorial power grid, the Bureau of Enforcement and the Metrology Service). And when installing the counter in 3 copies, plus the original verification certificate.
