Alison Van Uytvanck qualified for the round of 16 at Wimbledon. Van Uytvanck, 47th in the world, beat Estonian Anett Kontaveit (WTA 27) 6-2, 6-3 in the third round on Saturday. The meeting lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes.Two days after his exploit against the defending champion, the Spanish Garbine Muguruza, Van Uytvanck, 24, returned perfectly against Kontaveit: she twice took the service of his opponent to lead 3-0. She won the first set 6-2. In the second set, she made the break to lead 2-1, but immediately suffered the counter-break of Kontaveit. A new break gave him the 4-3 advantage. On the service of her opponent, she wasted three match points before concluding the match 6-3. In the round of 16, Van Uytvanck will play against Russia's Daria Kasatkina (WTA 14 / N.14), victorious from Australia's Ashleigh Barty (WTA 17) 7-5, 6-3.
