The Brussels public prosecutor's office opened a judicial inquiry on his own initiative concerning Alain Nimegeers, a former elected MR of the City of Brussels suspected of having promised a regularization to an undocumented immigrant in exchange for money, says his spokesman, confirming information from the RTBF.Un undocumented Moroccan to which the former elected, who left the Brussels municipal council in May, had promised a residence permit in exchange for 3,000 euros, has transmitted sound recordings supporting his statements to the RTBF, according to the public channel. Last January, the undocumented would have handed 2,750 euros in cash to Alain Nimegeers, without obtaining anything in exchange. According to the same source, Alain Nimegeers mentioned in these records sums of money, intermediaries and the procedure for obtaining residence permits. He also spoke about the possibility of obtaining social housing outside the legal rules for remuneration. (Belga)
