Three people were killed and seven wounded on Saturday night in a shootout near a bar in New Orleans, according to local police, who were looking for two armed suspects on Sunday.
"Two unknown gunmen, who would be dressed Hoodies apparently approached a group of people gathered in front of a bar "a few kilometers from the tourist center of the city, the French Quarter, said the police in a statement.
" We think they approached from one of the people and they fired multiple times before fleeing, "said local police chief Michael Harrison during a news briefing at night. "It was personal"
The victims – five men and two women – were transported to the hospital. According to NBC, one of the victims would be in critical condition.
The police do not know the reason for this shooting.
"The investigation will tell us," Harrison said. "It was totally intentional but we do not know at this point if it's gang-related."
