This Wednesday, around 14:30, firefighters Mouscron intervened in Leers-Nord for a field on fire. Heavy smoke was visible from the highway. The men of fire, however, managed to control the flames quickly.
The firefighters fell on a wall of flames in a field in the commune of Estaimpuis, on the side of Leers-Nord. More specifically, around Center Street.
Currently, there is nothing to say whether it is the rays of the sun that have ignited the remains of wheat, or if it is a malicious act.
Considering the importance of the fire, the firefighters of mouscronnois had to ask for reinforcement. It was their colleagues from Antoing who came to the rescue with a tank.
The fire was controlled fairly quickly.
