ABT RS6-E: a hybrid Audi estate with 1,018 hp

[ad_1]

The Audi RS6, based on the older generation of A6, is already one of the most disheveling family cars on the market especially in its Performance version. With its V8 4.0 biturbo that develops 605 hp and 700 Nm, it can cut down from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 s. But that was probably not enough for ABT, who decided to make the wagon even wilder than it was originally.

The German trainer had already looked into his case last year with the RS6 +, and he then added a hundred horses, bringing the total to 705 hp. On the RS6-E that interests us today, however, we change the register, since the extra cavalry is counted in hundreds of horses, thanks to the addition of an electric motor developing 288 hp placed in the transmission tunnel.

A boost of 288 hp on demand

This added to the 25 hp still grappillés on the V8 biturbo, the RS6-E develops in total 1,018 hp and 1291 Nm . The performances then come closer to the sharpest sports car on the market, with a 0 to 100 km / h speed in 3.3 s and a top speed of 320 km / h.

The button magic that allows to use the surplus of electrical power.

The surplus of electrical power is however not used permanently, but rather in the manner of a momentary boost when one supports on the green button on the steering wheel. To develop this technology, ABT used its experience in Formula E.

The style of the car is also quite futuristic, with a painting reminiscent of a circuit board, while various aerodynamic elements have been added to the lower bodies and side skirts, or even to the surround of the rims.

This RS6-E remains for the moment in the prototype state, but it makes no doubt that ABT will soon propose preparations using similar technology.
