Antwerp recruited the defender Daniel Opare . The Ghanaian right-back comes free from Augsburg. He has committed for two years, with an option for an additional year. This was announced by the 'Great Old' on Wednesday.
Opare, 27, had already played in Belgium, at Standard. The 'Rouches' had recruited him from the Real Madrid youth squad in 2010. Opare then played in Porto (2014), Besiktas (2015), Augsburg (2015-2018) and Lens (2017).
An extension of contract was waiting for him at Augsburg, but it was withdrawn because " he repeatedly violated the club's code of conduct ". He was left free.
Antwerp technical director Luciano D'Onofrio, who has known him since his period at the Standard, allows him to regain the Belgian championship.
