Nintendo started selling "news" Nintendo Switch with retouched models upstream to no longer be vulnerable to the "Fusée Frozen" fault …. and therefore, not to be piratable!
Remember, a few weeks ago, we learned the presence (and exploitation) of a fault, called Fusée Frozen. This one was then presented as impossible to correct via a software update, since it presents directly on the chip Nvidia Tegra of the Nintendo Switch. As a result, millions of consoles already on the market are vulnerable.
On the Nintendo side, we obviously heard the message, and a first salvo of "news" Nintendo Switch arrived in rays. These recently badembled models have obviously been reviewed and corrected, to eradicate the fault discovered a few weeks ago. It is therefore impossible to exploit the Fusée Frozen fault on these new versions of the Switch, but according to the hack expert Scissors rel = "nofollow"> M these new models are also delivered with the update 4.1 .0.
Good news for hackers, since it means that this new batch of Nintendo Switch remains vulnerable to another falle: Déjà Vu . In all likelihood, Nintendo would have corrected its Switch there are already a few months, hence the presence of this firmware relatively old. Recall that since March, the Nintendo Switch has a firmware 5.0. So a dated OS, but rather logical when you know that before publicizing the information, the teams failOverflow and Team ReSwitched had taken care to warn Nintendo and Nvidia of the faults present within the machine. The Japanese giant seems to have made its provisions there are already a few months, and it is only now that the first corrected models arrive in shops.
Editor's note: obviously, we strongly advise against any form modification of the console, for obvious legal reasons, but also to prevent any form of dysfunction or brick of the Nintendo Switch
