The chef who introduced Belgian cuisine to Expo 58

He was one of the greatest of Belgian gastronomy: Pierre Romeijer (who was rather writing "Romeyer") died this week, a few days after having turned 88.

Born in Etterbeek on June 28, 1930 Pierre Romeyer has become one of the most prestigious cooks in the world at a time when they were not as well-publicized as they are today. But the chef is one of three Belgians to have won the famous "Three Stars" in the Michelin Guide. This earned him the status of baron (in 2001).
