Dozens of users of the regional express train (TER) occupied Friday the tracks of trains to protest the many delays.
They lost patience. On Friday, users blocked the TER traffic in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) by sitting on the tracks. For two hours, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the removal of several trains. Delays and train deletions are frequent on this line that connects Nice to the Principality of Monaco. These travelers, who use the regional rail network every day to get to work, are experiencing a situation that is deteriorating day by day. An badociation of users, explicitly named "The Wrecked of the TER", was even created. On twitter, its president Eric Sauri has challenged the president of the PACA region Renaud Muselier and Christian Estrosi: "You will meet the Prime Minister Edouard Philippe in Nice on July 14, thank you for reminding him of his law of the railway reform, in order to 'to avoid the chaos of yesterday on our rails.'
In a statement released Friday afternoon, CGT Paca Railroaders also denounced the deletions. The union said that "in Nice, for reasons of lack of equipment, the management of the SNCF has purely and simply deleted without notice, 6 trains causing the anger of users". The union said that the depots in which the trains are being maintained "are being cut off". The train traffic was able to resume Friday at 9 am, after the evacuation of users by the police.
