Netflix unveils the Millarworld comics adapted for series and films

Almost a year after acquiring Millarworld, the publishing house of screenwriter Mark Millar, Netflix announced which comics she chose to adapt to the screen. Five productions should soon see the light of day: two series and three films.

I am disappointed to learn that there will be no new remakes of Kick-Ass or Kingsman on Netflix. This news is all the more painful in a period when the Marvel are likely to leave the catalog of the giant stream.

But Millarworld is a gigantic universe and there are many other titles signed by screenwriter Mark Millar. His company was bought by Netflix in the summer of 2017, many of his works are destined to see the day on the US platform. Jupiter's Legacy

The first generation of superheroes landed in the 1930s had super-powerful children and they are struggling to live up to their parents' legendary feats. The project is described as a multi-generational American super-epic and will be a series by Steven S. DeKnight ( Buffy, Marvel's Daredevil )

American Jesus

The series takes us in the footsteps of a twelve-year-old boy who discovers that he is in fact the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. He can turn water into wine, make cripples walk, and even resurrect the dead. The series will be directed by the showrunner Everardo Gout ( Luke Cage )

Empress

The story takes place on Earth 65 million years ago and tells the story story of Emporia, the wife of a galactic dictator, King Morax. With her children and a bodyguard, she tries to escape this terrible husband. This comic book should be adapted for film by Lindsey Beer ( Sierra Burgess is a Loser )

Huck

Huck lives in a quiet seaside resort but has a special power that he keeps secret. His neighbors are aware but they are silent about his special gifts that Huck use every day to do a good deed. One day, however, a newcomer alerts the media and everything changes. We do not know yet the date of its exit but one knows that it is Ted Melfi ( Figures of the Shadow) who will be in charge of the scenario.

Sharkey the Bounty Hunter follows a bounty hunter who hunts criminals across the galaxy in his reconverted ice cream truck. Helped and encouraged by his 10-year-old partner, he is on the trail of what could be the biggest bonus of his career. Release scheduled for 2020.
