A new series "Buffy against vampires" with a black Buffy

The television arm of US studio 20th Century Fox is currently preparing a new version of the cult series "Buffy and the Vampires "(1996-2003), with hero a black Buffy, told AFP a spokesman, confirming the information of several American media.

Beyond the main character, Fox 21 TV Studios wishes to propose a distribution much more varied than the original series, of which all the principal actors were white, according to the specialized site Deadline.

American teenager without history, Buffy Summers, interpreted originally by Sarah Michelle Gellar, is designated like the elected one to fight, with the help of his friends, against the vampires who pose a permanent threat.

Monica Owusu-Breen (who worked on "Charmed", "Alias" or "Lost") was named as author, showrunner and executive producer of this new series, produced by the same studio as the premiere

The author will be badisted by the creator of the original series and successful screenwriter ("Justice League" or "Avengers: L ' era of Ultron ") Joss Whedon, who will be executive producer.

The project does not yet have a broadcaster and will be presented this summer to broadcast channels and platforms, according to Deadline.
