and Pioneer were fined 111 million euros . The four firms charged their online retailers fixed or minimum resale prices. "If these retailers did not comply with the prices charged by the manufacturers, they exposed themselves to threats or sanctions such as the cessation of supplies," the Commission states in its communiqué.
Services of Competition had opened an investigation into these practices in February 2017. In their work, the investigators enjoyed the cooperation of firms who brought their own evidence and acknowledged their infringement. . Their fines were therefore almost halved . The total fine is 65.5 million euros . Nothing comparable with the record fine of 4.3 billion imposed by the same European Commission on Google last week.
