The "Nuit Québec" comes to end this Saturday evening the 2018 edition of the Fourvière Nights Festival in ancient theater. An edition that attracted 150,000 spectators for the second year in a row.
Twelve musicians and singers from Quebec end this Saturday evening eight intense weeks of a multidisciplinary festival that mixes music, dance, circus and theater. With 150,000 spectators and 7 original creations for the 2018 edition, the Nuits de Fourvière festival is becoming even more famous. Last year, 156,000 spectators attended 131 performances of the festival, so 9 creations. Attendance that stabilizes after a 2015 edition with exceptional attendance (191 000 spectators) and a 2016 less crowded (136 000 spectators). In a statement, the organizers also specify a budget "equilibrium" .
On the way to the 2019 edition
While the last note of the vintage 2018 has not yet the organizers are already working on the 2019 edition, whose full program will be unveiled on March 12th. Two creations are already announced in preview. In theater, it will be the first French Book of the Jungle of the British writer Rudyard Kipling, staged by the American Robert Wilson and music by the psychedelic folk group Cocorosie. For the second, Mozart's masterpiece, the Requiem, will be played by the Insula Orchestra under the direction of Laurence Equilbey and staged by the juggler, acrobat and dancer Yoann Bourgeois. In 2019, the festival should also be integrated into the future Pbad Culture since the signing of a partnership between the director of the festival and the Minister of Culture, Françoise Nyssen.
