The police carried out during the last 12 months some 94,809 home checks in the communes of the "cbad plan" like Anderlecht and Molenbeek, in the Brussels Region, write Wednesday of Tijd and L'Echo. These controls generated 8,028 proposals for "automatic delistings" from people in the population register. During these checks, the police checks whether a person actually resides at the address where they are registered. The aim is to know precisely who lives where in the communes along the cbad and to reveal other offenses and "shenanigans" in terms of benefits, according to the dailies.

Anderlecht, where the police carried out the most checks (24,987), 2,652 proposals for radiation were sent to the municipality, for 2,270 in Schaerbeek and 810 in Molenbeek.

These figures were requested by the parliamentarian N-VA Brecht Vermeulen to the minister of Interior Jan Ham (N-VA)

Home checks were the spearhead of the cbad plan set up in early 2016 after the terrorist attacks in Paris.
