It's official, the hit series will have the right to a movie on the big screen.
The adventures of the English aristocracy have you missed? "Downton Abbey" will soon be making a comeback! After having invaded our small screens between 2010 and 2015, the series returns this time by the big door. Producers have just tweeted what fans have been waiting for (too) long.
"Happy to see you again at Downton Abbey! We're excited to announce that #DowntonAbbey will be out soon. The film production starts this summer " and announce the producers.
It must be said that this film project, we talked about it for a long time. But the production had a big problem: to manage to reunite all the casting.
No detail has for the moment leaked. According to the British newspaper "The Guardian", the creator of the series, Julian Fellowes, will write the script, the production will be entrusted to Brian Percival, director of "The book thief" (2013), and distribution to Universal Studios, with a "likely" release in 2019.
