Around 21h, the workers of the Walloon Water Company came down to stop the leak. Firefighters, on the other hand, were not called in.

According to the workers, this kind of totally unexpected water damage is actually caused by the plane trees lining the avenue. They search the soil deep from their strong roots, and end up damaging an underground water pipe. The water eventually infiltrates to form pockets under the pavements which, in the long run, collapse and allow the liquid to pbad. Along the avenue de Maire, the problem would be recurrent. But without these plane trees, no shadow along the avenue.
