The attackers of a Jewish man and his girlfriend, raped during a violent robbery in Creteil in 2014, were sentenced Friday to terms of up to 16 years imprisonment by the Assize Court of Val-de-Marne, which retained the anti-Semitic qualification.
The three men, today aged 22, 23 and 26 (one is on the run), who had forcibly entered the victims 'apartment with their hoods and guns, were sentenced to 16, 13 and 8 years' imprisonment. The court also convicted the badailant for the rape.
The sentences are less severe than those demanded by the general counsel for a crime that she described as "fundamentally anti-Semitic". The day before, she had required 20 years of criminal imprisonment against Houssame Hatri, the man on the run and author according to the victims of anti-Semitic remarks during the burglary, no less than 15 years for Ladje Haidara, convicted of rape, and 10 years for Abdou Salam Koita, the third aggressor.
Two accomplices, tried at the same time since June 26, have been sentenced to six and five years in prison.
On the morning of December 1, 2014, Jonathan and his now-companion Laurine, who lived with the young man's parents, were tied up and gagged while the attackers searched the apartment for cash. "Jews do not put money in the bank," they were told in hand, threatening to "beat them up."
The young woman was raped by one of the attackers during this burglary, but could not identify it formally because his face was concealed. The man condemned for these acts has always denied being the author.
They have ten days to appeal.
