This is yet another complaint for counterfeit Apple is today. At issue: Siri's voice commands, and more specifically the products that control the connected accessories.
The Californian company SpeakWare accuses Apple of violating one of its patents, dating from 2002, concerning voice commands. It is also pointed out how the brand's products can control the voice of connected accessories. Clearly, the iPhone, iPad and HomePod violate the patent using Siri to control for example all home automation accessories in the HomeKit range. What is not very clear however, is that SpeakWare does not seem to be very present on the Internet, which makes the experts say that the prosecution could be wrong.
It would not be the first "patent troll ", literally" patent troll "who would try to attack Apple. Many other companies that are said to be well established in the high-tech sector are seeking to sue a particular company for intellectual property infringement in order to recover money. SpeakWare is no exception and claims nothing less than moral damages, in addition to asking Apple to pay the costs of the lawsuit. It remains to be seen if the complaint is really founded or if it is only an attempt at extortion barely disguised.
