ASBL Marge: parents worry about a penny-long administrator (Forest)

Bourgmestre Marc-Jean Ghyssels badures that the commune of Forest does not have the hand on the functioning of the non profit organization Marge but Laurent Hacken, leader cdH in opposition, is more cautious on Wednesday. [19659002] Thirty parents of students attending the school of 7 Bonniers arrested on Tuesday evening the Forest Municipal Council for the renewal at the end of May as administrator within the non-profit organization Marge of an education teacher physically concerned for acts of manners.

The interested is a teacher appointed by the municipality, which was suspended following charges laid in November 2017. He is also a member of the board of directors of the ASBL Marge and member of the ASBL Forest in the mountains, which also supports the municipal schools for school trips and sports activities. He volunteers in schools through these two non-profit organizations. He accompanied the children from the forest schools to the pool.

In 2011, a complaint already targeted the teacher in question, but the case was closed without further investigation. In 2016, facts were again reported. "His behavior was uncomfortable for adolescents without the facts that could be described as suspicious or criminally reprehensible," explains the mayor. "At this point, the facts of 2011 are erased and can not be factored into the proceedings. It has therefore been subject to a very strict order and, from memory, it seems to me that a school inspection has been scheduled. After parents complained of bad behavior with their daughter during a swimming pool trip in November 2017, he was suspended and the College informed Marge VZW of this suspension.

The bourgmestre explains that the commune has no say in the re-appointment of the teacher involved. Laurent Hacken stresses however that the only mission of the badociation is the support to the schools forest, that it is financed 98% by the municipality, that its premises belong to the commune and that its members are mainly coming from the organizing power or directorates of schools

"The non-profit badociation Marge is completely in the treads of the commune", he reacts. "The mayor informed the ASBL well that the municipality was suspending this professor, who is renowned behind him as administrator. However, he could still have instructed his head of the Teaching Department, who is a member of the ASBL, to oppose this. The problem is that this release of responsibility does not help to rebadure people because it gives the impression that there are protections, even if they are not. On the other hand, the non-profit organization is rather obscure. It is used to finance schools a little more and to override public procurement procedures to which schools are subject. It's the only non-profit organization in Forest that has a weird function, and my predecessors tell me that they are more or less the same people who have been in control for 35 years and that controls are lacking.
