A few years ago, Aston Martin teamed up with Toyota to develop a small city car to meet the EU's CO2 emission limits. From this union was born the Aston Martin Cygnet, which was nothing but a Toyota IQ re-wired. Under the hood, the small 3-cylinder 98 hp did not give the thrill, but all this is ancient history …
On the occasion of the Goodwood Festival 2018, Aston Martin has revived the little Cygnet. But in an unrecognizable version, renamed Cygnet V8. Created at the request of a customer, this unique model is actually powered by a V8 engine! This is the 4.7-liter Vantage old generation. With a power of 430 hp the Cygnet V8 becomes the most powerful city car in the world. And even unveils times to shake some GT: 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.2 seconds, maximum speed of 274 km / h!

To bring in the big V8 in the small Cygnet, the engineers had to lengthen the car by 72 cm (3.71 m now) and widen the front and rear tracks. They also reinforced braking and removed the rear seat. The two pbadengers take their seats in genuine Recaro seats with safety harnesses. The dashboard, very refined, is covered with carbon, while the counters and some elements of the central console are taken from the Aston Martin Vantage.
We now look forward to Renault installs a Formula 1 engine in its Twingo …
