Audi launches the e-xperience app, which shows motorists the impact that electric driving can have on their mobility. Based on the journeys made with their current conventional fossil fuel car, the e-xperience app records, badyzes and compares data with data from the first electric Audi. With these, motorists can evaluate, thanks to their personal mobility profile, whether it is interesting to opt for an electric car. This is a first thought with the launch of the Audi e-tron, the first 100% electric Audi.
The fear of the unknown
Studies show that doubts and Electrical driving prejudices are tough on many drivers. What is the autonomy with a single charge? When to recharge and where to find a terminal? And above all: is it cheaper?
Virtual Trial
The Audi e-xperience app answers all these questions. The Android and iOS compatible application provides a very accurate simulation of what electric driving can represent in terms of traveling with a conventional fossil fuel car and compares it to data from the first electric Audi. After each trip, the application uses the speed, acceleration and distance traveled to calculate the amount of electricity consumed with an electric car, the amount of energy required for a trip, the level of charge of the virtual battery, etc. The application gathers all the user's journeys and establishes a realistic mobility profile, closer to reality than a single road test
Calculate the economy
It is also possible for the driver to save the parameters of his current car: the application then indicates the savings it would achieve according to the price of fuel and the amount of CO2 it would not reject with an electric car. These are compelling arguments for those who are reluctant to buy an electric car. Finally, the application gives practical advice on electrical driving.
Reload points
Once arrived at destination, the e-xperience application simulates the state of charge of the car battery virtual electricity and indicates the nearest charging point.
Privacy
The transmission of geolocation data is only possible with the user's authorization. The application starts to detect the path (distance traveled, battery consumption) only when the user presses the "Start" button. The simulation can be stopped at any time by pressing the "Stop" button.
Download today, reload tomorrow
Audi hopes that the free application will be downloaded (from Google Play or the App Store) many times and it will help to understand that electric driving is a response to the future mobility needs of many people.
