Great novelty this year: Brussels-les-Bains must cooperate with the Kbad Center Pompidou
Tomorrow, the biggest event of Brussels in the summer opens its doors. Every year, 350,000 visitors visit the waterfront in Brussels-Les-Bains, crisscrossing the various shops and activities, and 90 workers and students on the ground to orchestrate everything.
Last retouches, latest developments and big debriefing with the organization … The effervescence which agitates the quays of the cbad is palpable.
From the entrance, to the great sports era, pbading by the footbridge, everything feels new and seems to be more and more like what the inhabitants of Brussels will discover tomorrow. "We're on time, we'll finish everything pretty easily" says Delphine Romanus, coordinator of Brussels Major Events, 24 hours before the opening.
Great novelty this year: Brussels Major Events, organizer Brussels-les-Bains for 17 years will therefore have to cooperate with the recently opened Kbad-Center Pompidou. "There are many changes due to the recent opening of the museum, we can not ignore such a cultural place, so we adapt, for example, before, the event stretched almost to Sainctelette There we have brought the beginning a little further, so that people who want to enter the museum should not cross all Brussels-Les-Bains " explains Delphine Romanus. And it's not just that … This year, to be in agreement with the Kbad Center Pompidou, the day off will be Tuesday. After the weekends, traders will not be able to blow right away because Monday will not be the day of rest. "It'll be hard at first, and then I hope we'll get used to it, we'll rest like never on a Tuesday!" Testimonial Michelle, manager of Dimension Latina, has been present since very first edition.
And the highlight of the show, or rather the decor of this year, is a large bamboo installation, dotted with false grbad, wooden chairs and stretched canvas to make shade. "We created a setting that almost plunges into the cbad, so we have a view like a real marina, it feels like we're on the water, and I think for a summer event and a little seaside, it lends itself well " explains Delphine Romanus. This place will serve as a rest area during the day, to become, at night, the public's lair of Archipelago, which organizes every Friday and Saturday evenings for the event. While this concept was taking place at Pier 1 last year, the organizers decided to make it an event outdoor for this 17th edition. Finally, this year, program change for platform 1: it will host the largest fair in the world.
