The local police of the Brussels-North area (Evere / Schaerbeek / Saint-Josse-ten-Noode) intercepted in June 1,533 drivers who drove too much quickly or who had burned a red light, she says Wednesday.

Offenders were caught in the act in 37 actions called "Radar", aimed at fighting excessive speed and aggressive driving. These operations were mostly organized in areas limited to 30 and 50 km / h, especially in places where there are several schools. A total of 877,375 vehicles were checked during these actions.

Also in June, the police also checked the alcohol and narcotics consumption of 588 motorists, 20 of whom had been drinking too much. A report was written against 251 drivers who had used their mobile phone while driving and 218 others who did not wear their seatbelt. In addition, 2,357 were sanctioned for inconvenient or dangerous parking.
