Building a new car is a very polluting process. However, over the past decade, advances in technologies and the development of renewable energies seem to reduce the ecological impact of automobile production. As a result, between 2008 and 2018, CO2 emissions from European car factories dropped by 24%, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
Good news, as the number of vehicles produced old continent rose from 11.9 million in 2013 to 17 million in 2017! ACEA also points out that the energy consumed to produce a car in one of the 227 factories in Europe has decreased by 14% since 2008.
Water consumption down
