Colruyt: The first OKay store with a collection point Collect & Go opens its doors Heusden

On Wednesday, July 18th, OKay opens its 129th store in Heusden. In this local supermarket, customers find everything they need to do their daily shopping: fast, easy and cheap. The 650 m² store employs 14 people. It is the first OKay store to host a Collect & Go collection point. OKay is pleased to invite locals to a reception on Tuesday, July 17 from 6 to 8 pm. On the program: appetizers, bubbles and visit of the store.
      

First OKay with Collect & Go pickup point
      

To provide additional service to its customers, the brand new store also has a Collect & Go collection point. "This is the first OKay in which such a point of abduction is tested" explains the general manager Fabrice Gobbato. "Customers can pick up products from the Colruyt badortment they have reserved through Collect & Go. OKay employees have followed a training course and are full of energy at the idea of ​​starting the test. OKay stores meet both conditions for a Collect & Go collection point: they are located along roadsides near urban centers and offer ample parking. After the test, OKay and Collect & Go will evaluate the possibility of continuing the project, or even extending it to other stores.
      

Modern furnishings breathe freshness
      

OKay supermarket in Heusden is part of the new generation of OKay stores. Its modern layout exudes freshness. In the freshmart, wide aisles and large glbad walls make the shop experience particularly enjoyable. The vast badortment of fruits and vegetables is very well developed. Fresh bread is delivered daily and store employees bake bread rolls and pastries themselves on site. The badortment of fresh produce is one of OKay's strengths: fresh fruit and vegetables of the day, dairy products, meat, cold cuts, fish and ready meals. OKay offers a wide range of national brands, Boni Selection and the Everyday Premier brand. The local supermarket is also equipped with a convenient "Easy Cooking" counter, which includes all the ingredients necessary for the preparation of tasty seasonal dishes. Customers looking for a quick meal should no longer cross the entire store.
      

Minimal environmental footprint
      

' "OKay attaches great importance to a low-energy construction model with as little environmental impact as possible. That's why we use a maximum of sustainable materials and techniques " specifies Fabrice Gobbato. Like LED lighting which reduces by 30% the electricity consumption or the rainwater cistern used to supply the toilets. The building is particularly well insulated and the ventilation system can recover 75% of the ambient heat. Thanks to propane refrigeration, a much more environmentally friendly natural refrigerant than its chemical counterparts, CO 2 emissions from the refrigeration process decreased by 90%.
      

Opening Reception
      

From Wednesday 18 July, store manager Marijke Viellefont and her team will welcome their customers to the new OKay store in Heusden. The evening before, Tuesday, July 17, a reception will be held from 18 to 20 pm for the inauguration. All residents and future customers are welcome. The local supermarket is located at number 75 Laarnebaan – the main road between Heusden and Laarne – about ten minutes walk from the city center. Until now, the inhabitants of Heusden could go to the OKay shop in Oostakker, to the Spar de Wetteren or to the Colruyt shops in Ledeberg or Lochristi.
