"You are 40,000 fantastic supporters to celebrate our Red Devils in Brussels," the Brussels-Capital / Ixelles police said on Twitter on Sunday at around 3.30 pm
The Red Devils arrived around 3 pm at City Hall from Brussels. They then paraded and sang on the balcony of the Town Hall. Eden Hazard launched the festivities.
"The maximum capacity of the Grand-Place in Brussels is reached, you can not access it anymore," the Brussels-Capitale-Ixelles police zone said Sunday at 1:45 pm on Twitter. About 8,000 people were present on the Grand Place.
Some had already arrived in the morning.
Fans of the Red Devils who could not find a place were invited to join the giant screens at the Stock Exchange and Albertine Square.
For the first time since the Football World Cup 1986 in Mexico, the Red Devils reached the semi-finals. They were received at the end of the morning by King Philippe at the castle of Laeken.
They then traveled the streets of the capital by imperial bus between the Mont des Arts and the Grand-Place before arriving around 15h00 at the City Hall.
