This is a first in Belgium! In Ghlin, the non-profit badociation Les Amis des Aveugles will provide a visually impaired with a housing equipped with a brand new technology. Placed on the clbadic white cane, the case can detect all obstacles, even in height, thanks to its infrared system and laser. We attended a demonstration.
Accompanied by a trainer, Luc, blind, tests the electronic cane outside the buildings. As soon as he approaches a vehicle, he feels a vibration in his wrist. The intensity and rhythm of the vibration indicate the proximity of the obstacle. For Luc, it's time to discover this new technology developed by a French researcher.
