Muriel De Lathouwer, Managing Director and CEO of EVS, leaves the ship. Pierre De Muelenaere Appointed CEO ad interim
EVS, the leader in live video production systems, formalized the departure of its CEO and Managing Director Muriel De Lathouwer . The board of directors of the group and Muriel De Lathouwer "have agreed by mutual agreement to put an end to his mandates and functions of managing director and CEO of the company" explains EVS in a statement. [19659003] The president of the board of directors, Pierre De Muelenaere was entrusted with him to temporarily succeed until the appointment of a new CEO.
" On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Muriel for the important work that has been done over the past 4 years with the Executive Committee and the Board " said Pierre De Muelenaere.
Muriel De Lathouwer seems to pay the price of the poor results of the technological group of Liège. EVS had indeed completed 2017 by narrowly meeting its objectives. In total, sales in 2017 brought back 118.8 million in the caisses, which represents a decrease of 1.3% over one year. The profit, still for 2017, was 32.8 million, down 27%. Regarding 2018, the group's order book seems particularly lean: 37.8 million orders for 2018 and 4.7 million for 2019. 2018 therefore does not start better, despite the World Cup – traditionally a sales engine major – sales of EVS are lagging behind
As a reminder, four years earlier, EVS had already ended its collaboration with then CEO Joop Janssen. It was after his departure that Muriel De Lathouwer, then head of strategy in the management committee, took the helm.
Muriel De Lathouwer worked for more than 11 years in consulting in Accenture and McKinsey . At the latter, she specialized in the media, telecom and high technology sectors. She was also marketing manager of the mobile operator BASE for a year.
