According to the Sunday newspaper, Mr. Griffiths, married and a father, sent some 2,000 messages in three weeks to a 28-year-old waitress and her friend with whom he had been in contact via social networks.
The secretary of state told them to rent an apartment to have relations and would be touted to be courted because of his position. "I am very much in demand, power is an aphrodisiac," says one of the messages quoted by the newspaper.
The Sunday Mirror also claims that the MP paid several hundred pounds for the two young women to get bady photos and videos
"Dad's showing something piggy," he says in a message, saying he "deserved it" after a big day's work in Parliament.
"I am deeply ashamed of my behavior has plunged my wife and family, to whom I owe everything, in indescribable distress, and put the Prime Minister and the government in great embarrbadment, "says Andrew Griffiths in a statement issued by the newspaper.
" J ' I submitted my resignation (…) Friday, "he adds. "I'm not trying to excuse my behavior and I will seek the help of a professional to make sure it does not happen again."
One of the women concerned told the Sunday Mirror that she felt "dirty" , given the nature of the messages. "I had the impression of being used for the satisfaction of this rich man."
Among other feats of arms, Andrew Griffiths had recently denounced the arguments of the big British groups to justify the absence of women at the posts after the publication of a report on this subject produced by the Government.
