Last Friday on the occasion of the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century, many have plagued the bad weather that has ruined this unique natural spectacle.

But not all, a French photographer took advantage of cloudy and stormy weather to capture at the same time the eclipse, with Mars that was visible that night, and lightning.

Maxence Verrier is a thunder tracker. He was on the bridge in Haute-Loire last Friday since the weather forecast had predicted that the elements would be unleashed in France after the heat wave. Yet he was far from imagining a cliché that, by his own admission, seems impossible to reproduce. "In my lifetime, I will never do a similar photo, it will not happen again" he explains to France Télévisions .

"We expected to be able to photograph the eclipse, but from 18 hours thick cloud cover settled " details to our colleagues. "I had an incredible chance because the sky was clear to discover the orange moon and Mars at his side."

A precise moment that he managed to capture to make this cliche "the picture of a life"

For Maxence, this photograph goes beyond simple aesthetic beauty. "The power of the storm and the energy it unleashes next to this beautiful spectacle of the stars brings us back to our state in relation to the universe and the world" he continues with France Televisions . " We're really nothing, we're really slab, it made me feel infinitely small, we can do a lot of things as human beings, but it's nothing close of the spectacle of nature This is indescribable e. "
