Redmond launches a free edition of its Teams collaborative solution. Obviously limited compared to paid versions, the version of the self-service tool is less restrictive than those of its competitors, Slack in the lead.

So far, Teams was available in two formats: Business Essentials, 4 , 20 euros per month and per user, and Business Premium, 10.50 euros per month and per user, all taxes and with a commitment of one year. Microsoft's portfolio lacked a product of appeal that could attract SMEs and independents into its ecosystem and compete with Slack.

Here is the free version of Teams pbading from the state of rumor to that of anticipation. More limited than paid editions, this version is nonetheless well supplied. Note that it does not require a Microsoft account or Office 365 subscription. Like Business editions, it supports up to 300 users, includes unlimited messages and searches, integrated third-party applications and services, audio calls, and more. video including group, guest access, meetings on channels and screen sharing.

More features than Slack

Storage capacity is capped at 2 GB per user and 10 Go shared storage, against 1 TB for his big sisters. Exchange mail hosting and custom domains, access to Office 365 services, meeting recording, and phone calls are not available in this free version.
