National holiday: traffic in the center of the capital … (Brussels)

Traffic in the center of Brussels will be disrupted Due to the national holiday Saturday, warned Thursday the police area Brussels Capital-Ixelles. The participants of the festivities are invited to privilege the public transport which the offer will be widened for the occasion.

The place of the Palaces will be closed to traffic from July 20 in the evening until July 22 in the morning including for public transport. Around the Parc de Bruxelles, the following streets will be closed to vehicles from 5 am until the end of the festivities: Place Poelaert (including the Poelaert exit of the Stéphanie tunnel, which will be closed at night), rue des Quatre-Bras Regency Street, Place du Grand Sablon, Ernest Allard, Joseph Dupont, Coppens, Bodenbroeck and Ruysbroeck Streets, Place du Petit Sablon, Place Royale, Coudenberg, Mont des Arts, Rue Ravenstein and Rue Royale (between Law and Place) Royale) and rue Ducale (between Loi and Trône).

From 7:30 am to 10:00 am, the surroundings of the Saint-Michel Cathedral and-Gudule will be closed on the occasion of the Te Deum: boulevard Pachéco, boulevard de Berlaimont, boulevard de l'Empress, boulevard de l'Empereur, rue de Loxum, rue Cardinal Mercier and Cantersteen. From 7:30 am, the rue Royale will be partially condemned because of the movements of the escorts. The Saint-Lazare tunnel will be closed from 6 am

The military parade is scheduled from 16:00 to 18:00 from the Cinquantenaire. The Cinquantenaire-Loi tunnels, Reyers direction center as well as the avenue d'Auderghem (between Hunting and Schuman) will be inaccessible at noon. It will also be prohibited to travel on the following routes from 12:30 pm: avenue de Cortenbergh (between Renaissance and Schuman), rue Archimède, Schuman roundabout, rue de la Loi (including Tunnel entrance Joyeuse) and rue Lambermont. From 14:00 to 18:00, the following axes will also be closed: Throne square on the surface (no interruption in the tunnels except closing of the Belliard exit), avenue des Arts and boulevard du Régent between Loi and Trône (closures only on the surface), street from Luxembourg, rue Montoyer and rue Belliard (including the Belliard exit from the Trône tunnel and the large Belliard tunnel direction (E40) / Tervuren).

        

            

The section of the rue de la Loi between Arts-Loi and the rue Royale will remain closed until the end of the fireworks at 11 pm

The police zone advises visitors to reach Parc de Bruxelles by train or metro. Deterrent parking is available at Kraainem (metro), Heysel, Delta and Roodebeek.
