After working at Nest for two years, Marwan Fawaz recently announced that he was leaving his position as CEO.

Clearly, the year is up for change for the young shoot bought by Google. As a reminder, the latter acquired Nest Labs in 2014 for $ 2.3 billion, its third largest buyout at the time. The American firm had bought the connected thermostats manufacturer to turn gradually to the market of connected objects and home automation. After wearables and smartphones, it seemed logical that she turned to a company like Nest. The startup was co-founded by Matt Rogers and a former Apple employee named Tony Fadell, who then resigned two years ago, leaving current CEO Marwan Fawaz behind.

Pressures on the part

Nevertheless, the young shoot seemed to have been relatively left behind before Google announced that it finally pbaded under his wing, there are now five months. Subsequently, the company had introduced its first products since joining the Google team, and the machine finally seemed to be running. Nevertheless, it seems that there is a change in sight since the current CEO resigned Tuesday, July 17. As reported by CNET in an article dated the same day, the man would no longer be stationed and the teams of the two entities would now definitely merged. Nevertheless, it appears that the man retains status as a consultant to Nest.

Regarding the reasons for his resignation, it seems that they may be related to the departure of former co-founder Tony Fadell. When the latter was in office, many employees had denounced his tyrannical management and difficulty managing orders, leaving room for too long delays. His replacement, Marwan Fawaz, would have been considered by the employees as a simple manager rather than as a real new CEO. Pressures would have even pushed him to leave his post.

The official press release still pays tribute to the fact that " Nest's loyalty and employee satisfaction has improved significantly over time. that he [Marwan Fawaz] pbaded within the team . "
