With the arrival of its new big update, the title of Hello Games takes stock and takes the opportunity to discuss other novelties.
At its launch in August 2016, No Man's Sky was attracted the wrath of the players and a wave of hate violently struck the small studio Hello Games . In question, the so-called lies about the content of the game, considered at the time as a little empty. Two years later, the game has evolved through many updates and the Xbox One will host the app this week. Also, the big patch called "NEXT" will be released in a few hours and will explore the galaxy to several thanks to the cooperative multiplayer.
To celebrate this event, Sean Murray (the creator of the game) s is expressed on several topics. Already, he mentioned his pride in his team that went from 6 developers to 15 at the time of launch. He also admitted to making mistakes :
I personally made mistakes. I could talk for a whole day about things I would have liked to change. One of these regrets is undoubtedly compared to the drama and all the intensity around the launch which did not leave room for communication with the community. We decided to focus on development rather than words …
Next, Sean Murray shared some interesting statistics. Since the launch of the update "Atlas Rises" last year, players have played an average of 45 hours and 90% have rated the game positively. About 20% of the players surveyed the galaxy for 100 hours and 5% for 1000 hours. In total, more than 200 million hours have been played since the release of the game in 2016.
Hello Games also announces that shortly after the launch of No Man's Sky NEXT , weekly events and awards will land in the game . Everything will be free and without microtransactions. Finally, Sean Murray finishes by declaring that still a lot of content will be added in the coming years and that No Man's Sky is not yet "finished".
The Xbox One version of No Man's Sky as well as the update NEXT day will arrive on July 24.
