At a good week of the start of the European Championships in Berlin, Philip Milanov must give up because of a fractured foot fatigue. A blow to the discus launcher and the Belgian delegation

On the eve of the announcement of the Belgian selection for the Euro of Berlin (6-12 August), this Monday, the Belgian Athletics League has scratched a name from his list. Victim of a metatarsal fracture of his right foot, Philip Milanov must, indeed, give up the great athletic event of the summer. The Brugge announced it himself via his Instagram account stating that he will be on the flank of 4 to 6 weeks, which will also prevent him from playing in the Memorial Van Damme where he was already qualified for the final of the Diamond League on record

Milanov, 27, crowned 2015 World Vice-Champion in Beijing and 2016 European Vice-Champion in Amsterdam, should have been one of the flag bearers of the Belgian delegation in Berlin. Although he occupies only the 7th place in the European ranking of the year with a successful 66.51m jet in Stockholm, on June 10th, just under a meter from his personal best (67.26 m), he was quite capable of playing a role in the final. Despite a rather irregular season and some last few unconvincing outings in Paris (64.00 m), Szekesfehervar (Hon) (63.34 m) and the Belgian championships (63.39 m), his experience could have been an badet .

"
I'll have to settle for creative and alternative training sessions, he said. But I'll be back soon.
