Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte once again takes spectacular measures to fight smuggling, this time overseeing the destruction of $ 5.5 million worth of contraband luxury vehicles and a little less $ 500,000 worth of motorcycles.
Duterte oversaw the "destruction" of 68 luxury vehicles and eight motorcycles by a bulldozer in Port Irene, Cagayan province, a press release from the president's office said.
Bulldozers crushed luxury vehicles, which included a Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes Benz and motorcycles.
This is an action that follows Duterte's statement in which he said he was trying to fight against smuggling
"You must show the world that you have a viable place of investment and business," he said in his statement. "And the only way to show it is that you are productive and have the economy to absorb the productivity of the people."
