Polbru: 44 immediate license withdrawals for driving under the influence between March and June

191 drivers were tested positive for alcohol during 55 operations in Brussels-City and Ixelles.


The Brussels-Capital-Ixelles police zone carried out no less than 55 operations specifically aimed at the repression of driving under influence between 1 March and 30 June. A total of 16,309 motorists were subjected to a breath test or pre-test.
 


In these targeted actions, 191 of them were tested positive for alcohol, while 135 others reached the warning threshold. The various police devices deployed throughout the Brussels-Capital-Ixelles area also allowed the arrest of 20 motorists who had consumed narcotics. During these 55 operations aimed at eradicating driving under the influence, there were 44 immediate withdrawals of the driving license for alcohol, one of which against a controlled motorist with an alcoholic impregnation rate of 3, 72 grams per liter of blood, which is more than seven times the allowable limit.
 


The police zone counts a total of 466 alcohol-driving cases, 34 drug files and made 130 immediate driver's license withdrawals over the period. This includes actions specifically oriented driving under influence but also driving accidents.
