Porsche Macan 2018: slight changes for the Porsche SUV

Since its launch in 2014, the Porsche Macan has sold more than 350,000 copies around the world. A nice success for the manufacturer who took advantage of the Shanghai 2018 show to make some changes to its flagship model.

From the outside, the new products are quite thin with regard to the front panel. Just note the arrival of a shield slightly redesigned of LED headlights with four points of light as a light signature as on other models of the brand, or enlarged air intakes.

The evolutions are much more visible in the rear since the new Macan have lights connected by a light strip as is the case on the Cayenne and Panamera. Note that this light signature will also be taken over by the future Porsche 911.

In the rest of the novelties, Porsche announces the arrival of four new shades of bodywork, including this blue "Miami" photo .

A larger touch screen

Inside, the arrival of a new 11-inch touch screen required a review of the installation of aerators. Previously integrated on the sides, they are now placed at the bottom of the center console as on the new Volkswagen Polo.

Among the other novelties include the sports steering wheel GT borrowed from the 911 and new inserts . On the other hand, the Macan does not have a digital instrumentation as it is the case on many models today.

A Porsche Macan "semi-autonomous"

Porsche takes advantage of this restyling to modernize the equipment of its SUV, particularly with regard to the driving aids . Thus, the Macan has a "semi-autonomous" driving system in traffic jams, up to a speed of 60 km / h. Already present on several models of the Volkswagen group, this system automatically manages the acceleration and braking of the vehicle, but also the maintenance in the traffic lane.

Unveiled in China at the Shanghai Motor Show, the new Porsche Macan will make its European premiere in October on the occasion of the Paris Motor Show. Porsche will surely take the opportunity to unveil the new range of engines, prices and the release date of the rival of the new BMW X4.
