Montparnbade Station: RTE Announces Restoring Power Supply

Paris – RTE announced Monday that it has managed to restore the power supply to Montparnbade station three days after the fire of a substation that has seriously disrupted the movement of trains.

"The implementation of an alternative link is now effective and allows to restore the power supply of the railway network of Montparnbade station and homes in the area," said in a statement the manager of the high-voltage electricity network

The Harcourt substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine), which supplies Montparnbade, was severely damaged on Friday by a still unexplained fire, greatly disrupting the traffic trains departing and arriving at the Paris station

"On Monday, the RTE teams completed the commissioning work for the first temporary link ap "the damage suffered by the Harcourt substation," says RTE.

"They also completed the test phases, which proved to be successful," says the company.

RTE had promised Sunday that the power station would be restored Tuesday at the end of the day at the latest, or even Monday if the tests proved conclusive.

Train circulation remained highly disturbed Monday at the station Montparnbade, the SNCF hoping to return to a traffic "close to normal" Friday and completely normal Monday, August 6.
