Suicide of the ex-wife of Cantat: the complaint of a feminist association classified without continuation

The public prosecutor of Bordeaux announced Friday to have decided the "dismissal" of the complaint filed by the president of an badociation feminist against the singer Bertrand Cantat for the suicide of his ex-wife Krisztina Rady in January 2010.

At the beginning of June, the public prosecutor of Bordeaux had confirmed that the investigation had been reopened on the suicide of the ex-wife of Bertrand Cantat to check "elements" transmitted by Yael Mellul.

The latter had been the lawyer of the last companion of Krisztina Rady. Ms Mellul told AFP that she had been heard by the police on 23 May and, at the end of the hearing, lodged a complaint, as a first time in 2014, for "violence causing death without any intention to give her "

The lawyer of the former leader of Black Desire, Antonin Lévy, had reacted:" This umpteenth complaint is based on lies and will be dismissed, like all the previous ones. "Even the family of Krisztina , though first concerned, does not support this relentlessness ".

Krisztina Rady, who had two children with Bertrand Cantat, committed suicide in January 2010 at the marital home in Bordeaux. The singer, who has been free since October 2007 after having served his sentence for deadly blows on the actress Marie Trintignant in 2003, was put out of action in this suicide.

Bertrand Cantat gradually resumed his activity as singer from 2010. But his 2018 tour provoked a lot of hostile reactions, some seeing him as a symbol of violence against women.

These pressures resulted in the cancellation of several concerts and participations at festivals, until the 54-year-old singer finally throws in the towel at the beginning of June, renouncing the last scheduled dates.
