Four other people also drowned Sunday elsewhere in France : a 24 year old woman in Trouville (Calvados), a young Romanian in the Loire near Angers and two young asylum seekers still in the Loire between Angers and Saumur (Maine-et-Loire).
According to the Agence Publique France, nearly four people die drowned every day of the summer. Drowning is the leading cause of life-crash mortality among children, but all ages are concerned. The drownings in swimming pool concern especially young children who do not know how to swim and insufficiently supervised by an adult. In rivers and water bodies, they often occur after a fall and finally, at sea, the drowned are often "people living in the drowning department, over 45 years old, or people with a health problem. "
