A dramatic accident occurred this Thursday evening. A driver from Dour lost control of his vehicle in Pommeroeul. The car rolled over and the man, a Dourois, was ejected. He died before help came in.
The accident occurred in the early evening on the Belle-Vue road in Pommerœul, in the municipality of Bernissart. A Peugeot-branded vehicle, traveling in the direction of Pommeroeul-Dour, has, for some reason, been lurching. The car, the only one involved, made several rolls before coming to rest on the side, ejecting the driver. He did not survive.
The victim is a man from Dour.
The firefighters of Bernissart were called at 18:55 and sent a markup and an officer's car on the spot. An ambulance of Quiévrain and a Smur of the Borinage also went on the spot but on their arrival, the man was already dead.
