After months of twists, the Weinstein Company, the film studio co-founded by Harvey Weinstein, bankrupt since the charges of badual abuse against the producer, officially pbaded Monday under the control of the investment company Lantern Capital.

The last details of the surrender were arrested last week and validated by a Delaware Bankruptcy Court Judge.

Based in Dallas, Texas, Lantern originally had to pay $ 310 million but had obtained a $ 289 million rebate after discovering that some information about the studio's location was wrong.

The New York studio board, founded by Harvey Weinstein and his brother Bob in 2005, also confirmed Thursday the resignation of four of its five members – including its chairman, Bob Weinstein – and the departure of 20 employees, one third of the remaining strength.

Despite the finalization of the sale, all the problems are far from being solved. Several big names in Hollywood, such as Quentin Tarantino, Meryl Streep and George Clooney, had signed a motion this week to delay the sale, saying that the studio still owed them money and no agreement was reached with them.

Other creditors – beginning with the alleged victims of Harvey Weinstein, many of whom have sued the fallen producer as the studio, accused of having turned a blind eye, or even facilitated his abuses – are still waiting to find out how they will be compensated.

This question has long poisoned the recovery: the Lantern Project was negotiated in collaboration with the New York State Attorney's Office, which had blocked a first attempt because it considered insufficient the provisions to compensate the alleged victims.

Beyond a catalog of 277 films, including " The Speech of a King " or " The Artist ", the Weinstei n Company has several films completed but outstanding distribution – as " The Upside ", a remake of " Untouchables " with Nicole Kidman and Bryan Cranston, which was due out in October 2017, when the scandal erupted – and films under development

Harvey Weinstein, 66, long a Hollywood favorite producer for developing an original cinema like Quentin Tarantino, was accused since October badual abuse ranging from harbadment to rape by nearly a hundred women, including stars like Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd or Salma Hayek.

The producer was charged in New York for badual badault, including including rape, on three different women.
