Despite the downward revision of growth, tax revenues should be higher than expected

L Last year, as the federal government prepared the 2018 budget, growth prospects were good. But the first quarter was disappointing; and forecasters have recently revised their forecasts downward. In mid-June, the National Bank (NBB) admitted that it no longer expected growth to accelerate this year, but a 1.6% pace unchanged from 2017. In theory, bad news for the Swedish coalition, which had retained a growth rate of 1.8% to establish its 2018 budget. Which says less growth, also says: less tax revenue. But this will not be the case.
