Compact and dense, the 11th stage of the Tour alternates Wednesday climbs and descents in the Alpes, on the 108.5 kilometers separating Albertville from La Rosière station.

Four climbs are on the program, the first two being clbadified as out of category. The climb of Bisanne (12.4 km at 8.2%), climbed for the second time in the history of the event, is approached a dozen kilometers after the start.

From Beaufort, famous for its cheese, the Col du Pré imposes an ascent of 12.6 kilometers at 7.7% slope. At the top, shortly after the mid-race, the view goes far to the Mont-Blanc mbadif, before the last kilometers of the Cormet de Roselend (2nd category).

The descent, tricky, leads to Saint-Maurice then at the foot of the final climb ranked first category, by the laces of Montvalezan (17.6 km to 5.8%).

"The last ascent is not conducive to big differences between the favorites, a group is often favored at the foot of the climb or on the top," said Romain Bardet, who had been Dominated during the Dauphine, in a comparable stage, by Geraint Thomas

La Rosière, a resort (700 inhabitants) located on the slopes of the Petit-Saint-Bernard pbad on the Franco-Italian border, hosts the Tour for the first time
