Very active on the transfer market since the change of direction, the Union Saint-Gilloise had not recruited any forward, while the championship begins this weekend. Monday, however, announced the arrival for three years with an optional year of French native Malian Youssouf Niakaté.

Aged 25, this striker arrives from Boulogne-sur-Mer, the original club Franck Ribery. He scored 6 goals in 25 games in French D3 (National) last season.

He previously played in Créteil-Lusitanos (46 games, 8 goals).

Union seventh after playdowns last season, moves Friday (20:30) to Lommel, the club promoted, on behalf of the first day of the championship of D1B (Proximus League).

The first climbs in D1A (Jupiler Pro League), the next three in playoff II, the last four in playdowns (the fourth goes down in amateur D1)

The other forwards of the current nucleus of the Union are Roman Ferber and Mathias Fixelles, two survivors of last season.
