Ryanair warns strikers that they are at risk of dismissal for serious misconduct

CNE considers "scandalous" that Irish low-cost airline Ryanair sends warning messages from "no show " to his staff following the strike on Wednesday and Thursday, the union said Saturday in a letter to the federal and European authorities.

"Un 'no show 'is a gross mistake that leads most often to dismissal without compensation in case of repetition.Participate in a strike can in no way be considered a fault. This goes against all international conventions " (19659004) The Christian trade union which addressed the Prime Minister Charles Miche l, the Minister of Employment Kris Peeters to the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and the European Commissioner for Employment Marianne Thyssen expects the latter to react according to their skills.

"Indeed, it is too much as long as the slowness of the courts and the inertia of the social inspection services allow Ryanair to continue to develop its model and its exploitation with impunity ", laments the CNE.

Ryanair canceled 600 flights, Wednesday and Thursday, due to a cabin crew strike in Belgium, Portugal, Spain and Italy. Some 50,000 pbadengers were affected by these actions. The airline employs about 700 people in Belgium including 600 in Charleroi.
